Practice Resumé - Summer 2005
Since its founding in 1983, Architectural Design has developed into one of the busiest in the area with a current 'live' portfolio of around 150 projects. The majority of these are within a thirty-mile radius of Macclesfield and include new and conversion projects in the Peak National Park, Cheshire, Staffordshire and around the South Manchester conurbation.
Although Architectural Design are known more for their domestic portfolio, the company does have a significant record in other sectors with its in-house resource of designers and technicians who have a great deal of experience in a wide range of project types including residential, sheltered housing, leisure, industrial and commercial. For example, over recent months Architectural Design have gained Planning Permission for a number of exciting and varied schemes amongst which have been the conversion of a large grade II listed Georgian town house and outbuildings in Macclesfield from a doctor's surgery to 10no. apartments and houses, a new warehouse facility for haulage company F.Swain & Sons Ltd near Poynton in Cheshire and a number of new build 'one-off' houses for private clients. These have included a 700m˛ five-bedroom house with swimming pool in Bowdon, Cheshire, a stone-built 400m˛ five-bedroom house near Macclesfield in the Peak National Park and a contemporary four-bedroom, four-storey house in the green belt near Knutsford.
Architectural Design are currently working with a number of developers within Cheshire including Janhill Estates Ltd, Bell Meadow and Bluemantle. Currently under progress with these clients are a twenty-seven dwelling Housing Association Scheme and conversion of a barn to offices in Macclesfield and a number of smaller new housing and conversion projects.
