Practice Resumé - Spring 2009

Since its founding in 1983, Architectural Design has developed into one of the busiest in the area with a diverse portfolio that covers a wide spectrum of project types.  The majority of our works are within a thirty-mile radius of Macclesfield and include new and conversion projects in the Peak National Park, Cheshire, Staffordshire and around the South Manchester conurbation.

Although Architectural Design are known more for their domestic portfolio, the company does have a significant record in other sectors with its in-house resource of designers and technicians who have a great deal of experience in a wide range of project types including residential, sheltered housing, leisure, industrial and commercial.

Projects that have progressed through our office during the past year or so have included the conversion of a large grade II listed Georgian town house and outbuildings from a doctor's surgery to 6no. apartments and houses for 'Janhill Estates Ltd';  which gained a Macclesfield Civic Society award in 2008:  The conversion of a further listed Georgian building on Park Lane in Macclesfield for registered social landlord 'Dane Housing':  A large new build contemporary 'barn' type dwelling for a small scale developer in Tytherington:  A stone-built 400m² five-bedroom house near Macclesfield in the Peak National Park and the renovation of a country mansion near Handforth for local company 'Cheshire Demolition':  The extension of an optometrists practice in Macclesfield town centre for 'Oldbury & Cruickshank' (due to commence on site summer 2009): and various new build, conversion and extension projects for domestic clients, property developers, farmers, builders and businesses.
